Our center gives great importance to the safety of employees and patients. Therefore, the control of sterilization and infection has a great importance. Infection control is performed with modern devices in the light of latest information on sterilization.

 

In accordance with sterilization criteria, our central sterilization unit daily produces and files device-output reports for

Bowie-Dick tests

Sterilization process of autoclaves using biological and chemical indicators.

 

In accordance with Service Quality standards, our central sterilization unit is divided into three areas as follows:

Dirty Area

Clean Area

Sterile Area.

 

Our hospital’s Central Sterilization Unit is equipped with;

Two double-door autoclaves,

Two double-door washer-disinfectors,

1 desktop autoclave,

Clamping Sleeve Elevator

2 DACK devices.

 

During the central sterilization processes;

Dirty instruments are counted and unit name and clinic name are recorded on the Hospital Information Management System (HBYS) Sterilization Module.

Dirty instruments are washed with water and mechanically cleaned within dirty area. Then, they are all placed into double-door washer-disinfectors. Following the cleaning of the dirty instruments in and by the washer-disinfectors, they are all taken dry from the clean exit door at the clean area and become subject to the packaging stage.

Clean instrument are packaged by forming treatment and examination sets according to treatment procedures. Packed instruments are distributed to the relevant clinics with the help of clamping sleeve elevator in accordance with the information recorded at the entrance of the dirty area.

 

The following information take place on the packages into which the instruments are placed (Sterilization roll);

 

Packaging Date,

Expiration Date,

Sterilization device,

Details of the person who performs sterilization.

 

Packed instrument are placed into a double-door autoclave from clean area. Following sterilization process, the instruments are taken from autoclave and placed on specially prepared shelves.

Instruments stored in a sterile area are transferred to relevant physician and clinics by being recorded on the Hospital Information Management System (HBYS) Sterilization Module.

Air exhauster, micro motor, angle dental screwdriver, drills, heads, etc. to be sterilized are sent to the Sterilization Unit via Clamping Sleeve Elevators placed within the floors of the clinics.

Heads, for which the physician is identified to the system and recorded on the Hospital Information Management System (HBYS) Sterilization Module, are packed following lubrication and washing procedures and finally sterilized at Central Sterilization Unit by being recorded on the Hospital Information Management System (HBYS) Sterilization Module.

Heads, of which sterilization procedures are completed, are recorded on the Hospital Information Management System (HBYS) Sterilization Module by scanning their barcodes. Clean instruments are all sent to the relevant physicians and clinics by using Transporting Clamping Sleeve Elevators.
